Driven by compassion and rooted in community, CJPaws, Inc. is a volunteer and donation-led non-profit cat rescue nestled in St. Petersburg, Florida. Our story originated with Zoe, a resilient kitten who inspired our founder to extend a compassionate hand to the broader animal world.
At CJPaws, our focus lies in rescuing, fostering, and rehoming cats, all facilitated by our dedicated volunteers and supported by generous donations. Beyond animal welfare, we actively cultivate community connections. Operating in collaboration with local businesses and corporate partners, we aim to create an environment where our animals find loving homes, and our business partners thrive.
Our mission is clear: strengthening the bond between people and pets, one cat at a time.

CJPaws, Inc. is committed to helping animals in our community, whether they have been abandoned by their previous owners and are living as strays on the streets, or their owners can no longer care for them and need to surrender them. We mainly focus on cats but sometimes have room in our foster homes for small animals as well. We partner with local businesses to help bring new customers to their shops by setting up adoption events and drawing in clients that may not have otherwise visited. CJPaws is dedicated to helping small businesses grow and thrive in this changing economy. If you know of a local business that is interested in partnering with CJPaws (it doesn't have to be a pet store; any local business is welcome), please contact us. We would love to help drive business and sales by directing our adopters to those locations, in exchange for allowing us to leave business cards and occasional flyers for distribution.
Our team is composed entirely of volunteers who work full time, have families, and take care of pets of their own. Their dedication toanimals and their desire to save lives drives them each and every day to carry on with CJPaws' rescue efforts, despite the daily challenges anddemands of their personal and professional lives.

Otis
Adopted by: Nicole M.
Otis was found in the middle of an ashphalt road in the heat of summer, stuck in the sticky mar and unable to pull himself free. Some very kind people stopped to free him and immediately called CJPaws! They brought him straight to one of our volunteers at her job (pictured above lying on her desk!). He was only about six weeks at the time, was very sick, thin, and covered in tar. With a little bit of medicine and a whole lot of love, Otis made a full recovery and was adopted to a lovely family! Otis now lives in a happy family with four other kitty siblings, a large home and a big screened-in porch where he LOVES to watch the squirrels and birds. He's a cuddle monster and enjoys being picked up and carried all around the house! His favorite activity is playing with his crinkly butterfly, which he carries around the house like a dog! He likes to shove it under closed doors (especially the bathroom!) so that his mommy can push it back under the door and he can shove it back under again! Otis is a perfect example of how good people can save animals and change their lives forever with just a phone call to CJPaws. Thank you for your good deeds!

Mikey is one of those stories we never like to hear about, but are thrilled if a happy ending comes of them. He was adopted from a rescue in Georgia as a puppy, then a year later rehomed by his family, to a man in Tampa where he was abused in his new home, then rehomed to another family, who eventually just opened the door and let him go free. Then he was run over by a truck in Tampa. He was taken to a kill shelter with severe injuries, collapsed lungs, missing skin, broken teeth and terrible bruising. No dog rescues would take him, so CJPaws stepped in hours before this two year old was scheduled to be euthanized. Thanks to all of the generous donations from our facebook followers, Mikey's thousands of dollars worth of medical treatment was 100% paid for and after a 9 month struggle to regain his health, he was finally found a responsible and loving family to live with for the rest of his long life. He now has two doggy brothers and five kitty siblings that he absolutely adores! He is such a blessing to his new family and is so perfectly behaved that his mommy can't understand why anyone would ever want to cast him aside. Mikey is a perfect example of how donations to CJPaws are used to save animals and give them the homes they deserve!
We are 100% run by volunteers with full time jobs, families, and pets of our own. Please be patient and respectful of our time. We have no physical location, but cats are available to view by appointment in foster homes.
